Rep.
“Filipinos are tough people who soothe problems with jokes, cheer and laughter. However, wage hike orders that look good on the paper they are written on do little to ease the burdens of inflation. Kasambahay’s minimum wage in Metro Manila rose by P500. The new total is P7,000. Are Kasambahay’s getting the minimum wage and benefits,” wika ni Valeriano.
“DOLE and DILG must mobilize the Barangay councils to diligently document minimum wage compliance. DOLE has lamented before that they do not have enough inspectors to check on compliance. But if the Barangay councils are deputized, trained and mobilized. They become the compliance deputies,” sabi pa ng kongresista.
