ANG pagpapabuti ng buhay ng mga Pilipino at hindi ang mapaghating pamumulitika umano ang prayoridad ng Kamara de Representantes sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

Ito ang sinabi ni National Unity Party (NUP) president at Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte kasabay ng pagbibigay ng babala na masisira ng pamumulitika ang magandang nasimulan ng Kamara na itaguyod ang “agenda for peace and prosperity” ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“Improving the lives of all Filipinos, as committed by President Marcos, is the priority in the House on the watch of Speaker Martin (Romualdez), in lieu of divisive politics, hence the need for greater unity,” ani Villafuerte.

Mahalaga umano ang pagkakaisa sa pagpapanatili ng magandang working relation ng Malacañan Palace at Kongreso.

“Lest we forget, 31 million Filipinos gave President Marcos the biggest ever electoral mandate in our history in 2022 after capturing their collective imagination with his call for national unity behind his Bangon Bayan Muli (BBM) pledge to lift all boats,” sabi ni Villafuerte.

“Our nation’s leaders would break faith with this broad and deep public support for national unity were we to waste our time with vacuous political discord that could only break apart the supermajority coalition in both the House and the Senate—and wreak havoc on the ‘Agenda for Peace and Prosperity’ of President Marcos to improve the lives of all Filipinos,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon kay Villafuerte sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Romualdez ay naipasa ng Kamara ang 33 sa 42 panukala na inendorso ni Pangulong Marcos.

Bukod dito ay naproseso umano ng Kamara ang 9,600 panukala sa unang regular session ng 19th Congress na malayo sa nagawa noong 18th Congress.

“The House needs to stay the course on the President’s agenda of high and inclusive growth for the benefit of all our people, as most Filipinos are obviously aware of, and appreciate, the headway made by Mr. Marcos in his BBM campaign pledge in his first year in office, as shown by his excellent satisfaction ratings in tracking polls.”

“Only through greater unity under Speaker Martin can we remain true to our commitment to President’s legislative agenda to improve the lives of all Filipinos,” dagdag pa ni Villafuerte.

Kinikilala rin umano ng publiko ang pagsuporta ng Kamara sa agenda ng Pangulo na makikita sa mga survey kung saan nakakuha ng Mababang Kapulungan ng 63% sa survey ng Social Weather Station.

Si Villafuerte ay co-author ng 14 na priority bills ng Marcos administration.

Ang NUP ang ikalawang pinakamalaking partido sa Kamara na sumusuporta kay Romualdez, na pangulo naman ng Lakas-Christian Muslin Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
