Women’s Run PH dadayo sa Iloilo

MATAPOS ang matagumpay at record-breaking edition nung Oct. 20, dadayoo ang Women’s Run PH sa makasaysayang Iloilo City sa darating na Nov. 10.

Inanunsyo ni race organizer Nicole dela Cruz na mula 1,700 women runners nung nakalipas na taon, ang pinakahuling kumpetisyon na ginanap sa at UP Diliman ay nilahikan ng higit 6,000 participants sa 1K, 5K and 5K runs.

Sinabi ni Dela Cruz sa nakalipas na Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex na umàsa sila ng katulad na responsesa nakatakdang first all-women run sa Iloilo sa susunod na buwan.

“Our goal is the empowerment of women through running and when you hold an event that is specific and designed for women you also help build their confidence,” pahayag nin Dela Cruz.

“It was a big jump from 1,700 runners to 6,000 this year and we achieved this because we asked help from different communities and companies that support women,” dagdag pa nita Dela Cruz.

Samantala, inihayag din niya ang isa 0ang all-women’s run sa Davao City sa Jan. 19.

“We try to make it friendlier and less intimidating and we hold free training runs in Metro Manila. We’re adding more elements to the run. People come in costumes like (Super) Mario and dinosaurs. It’s so inspiring,” paliawanag ni Dela Cruz sa weekly forum na itinataguyod ng San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, Smart/PLDT, at Arena Plus, ang 24/7 sports app sa bansa.
