WALONG overseas Filipino workers (OFW) ang nakatakdang umalis sa Israel sa Oktobre 16 bilang bahagi ng hakbang ng administrasyong Marcos na matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga ito sa gitna ng kaguluhan.

Sinabi ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega na 22 Pilipino ang nagpahayag ng pagnanais na umuwi sa Pilipinas at walo sa mga ito ang bibiyahe na sa susunod na linggo.

“There are at least 22 Filipinos in Israel who have indicated that they want to go home. The first batch at the government’s expense will be leaving on October 16 – there are eight of them,” sabi ni De Vega.

Ayon kay De Vega ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ang sasagot sa gastos sa pamasahe ng mga uuwi at bibigyan din ng tulong ng gobyerno.

“Once they arrive, they’ll be given the proper assistance. The usual reintegration and other assistance packages provided by the DMW and the OWWA,” sabi pa ni De Vega.

Sinabi ni De Vega na mayroon pang biyahe ng eruplano papasok at palabas ng Israel.

“The situation in Israel is not a big problem if it refers to the evacuation of nationals because the situation there is more stable and we’re ready to repatriate them and we don’t expect big numbers,” sabi pa ng opisyal.

“It is our kababayan in Gaza, ganoon po. So – and obviously, Israel has indicated that they will undertake measures to eliminate Hamas. So, Gaza has been placed on voluntary – I’m sorry, on voluntary repatriation or crisis at level 3,” saad pa nito.

Patuloy naman umanong nakikipag-ugnayan ang Pilipinas sa gobyerno ng Israel upang mailikas ang mga Pilipino na nasa Gaza.
