75K Pinoys seafarers kukunin ng US-based company
KUKUHA ng 75,000 Pinoy seafarer ang US-based na Carnival Corp. sa susunod na tatlo hanggang apat na taon.
Ito ang sinabi ni John Padget, presidente at CEO ng Carnival Corp. nang makipagpulong ito kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Washington DC.
Pinuri rin ni Padget, na siya ring kinatawan ng Carnival Cruise Line, Holland American Airlines, at Seaborn, ang hospitality at competitiveness ng mga Pilipino.
“It doesn’t matter whether it’s the marine, deck, hospitality, restaurant… everything is based on the happiness, the smile, and the greatness of the Filipino employees,” sabi ni Padget.
Nagpasalamat si Pangulong Marcos kay Padget sa kumpiyansang ipinakita nito sa mga manggagawang Pilipino.
“When you say that the — the ladies and gentlemen that we have here today represent 200,000, you do not represent 200,000 employees, you represent 200,000 families and you represent 200,000 communities in the Philippines,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Mayroong mahigit 4 milyong Filipino migrant worker sa Estados Unidos.
