PINURI ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang Research Center for Teacher Quality (RCTQ) sa paggawa nito ng Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers.

“Let me start by congratulating the men and women of the Research Center for Teacher Quality or RCTQ for its 10 fruitful years of work in the field of research with the primary goal of enhancing teacher quality in the country,” sabi ni Duterte sa kanyang talumpati sa ika-10 anibersaryo ng RCTQ sa Rizal Park Hotel.

Ang Philippine Normal University ay pumasok sa isang partnership sa University of New England at Australian Agency for International Development na siyang pinagmulan ng RCTQ.

Ayon sa Duterte tatlong taon ang ginawa pag-aaral at konsultasyon ng RCTQ sa pagbuo ng Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers na ginamit ng Department of Education (DepEd) noong 2017.

Tatlong taon din ang itinagal ng pag-aaral na ginawa ng RCTQ upang magawa ang Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads and Supervisors na ginamit ng DepEd noong 2020.

“Through RCTQ’s help in embedding these standards in our human resource systems, DepEd is now able to issue more informed policies on teacher hiring, promotion and career progression, teacher professional development, and rewards and recognition,” sabi ni Duterte.

Sinabi rin ni Duterte na tuloy-tuloy ang pagpapatupad ng Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030, isang proyekto na naglalayong pataasin ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa bansa.
