NANAWAGAN ng isang masusing imbestigasyon ang liderato ng Kamara de Representantes kaugnay sa deepfake video ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na nagbibigay ng umano ng utos sa mga sundalo.

“This matter involves national security and the malicious dissemination of fabricated information,” ani Senior Deputy Speaker at Pampanga 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr.

Iginiit ni Gonzales ang kahalagahan na maimbestigahan ng kaukulang ahensya gaya ng Department of Information and Communications Technology at ng Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center ang insidente.

“We should not allow this to happen again. We should not tolerate criminally-minded persons to wreak havoc on our national security and to give our people fake information,” sabi pa niya.

Dapat din umanong mapanagot ang tao o grupo na nasa likod ng deepfake na ito, ayon sa mambabatas.

Sinegundahan naman ni Deputy Speaker at Quezon Rep. David “Jayjay” Suarez ang posisyon ni Gonzales at hiniling na magbigay ng palagiang update sa Kamara kaugnay sa kanilang isinasagawang imbestigasyon.

Mungkahi pa nito na hingin ng ahensya ang tulong ng mga eksperto mula sa pribadong sektor para sa kanilang imbestigasyon.

“It should not be difficult for them to identify the origin of the deepfake and those behind it. I suspect this bogus material originated from somewhere in the south of the country,” wika pa niya.

Dagdag pa ni Suarez, hindi dapat magpaloko ang mga sundalo sa naturang gawa-gawang video na nagpapanggap na Pangulo.

“I trust that they will heed instructions issued only through official lines of communication and from the chain of command. I believe in the professionalism and patriotism of our soldiers,” giit ni Suarez.
