Kinilala at pinuri ng Commission on Population and Development (CPD) ang ginawang pagpapa-vasectomy ng TV host at mister ni Iya Villania na si Drew Arellano.

Sa statement na inilabas sa kanilang Facebook page, sinabi ng CPD na ang ginawa ni Drew ay isang responsible parenthood at ipinakita raw ng TV host sa lahat na pwede ring mag-participate ang kalalakihan when it comes to family planning na usually ay mga kababaihan lang ang gumagawa.

“We need more men like Mr. Arellano to encourage men to assume greater responsibility in ensuring the wellbeing of their partner and their children through responsible parenthood and family planning,” saad ng CPD.

Ayon pa sa nasabing government agency, 0.1% lang sa ating mga kalalakihan ang sumasailalim sa vasectomy.

“The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) lauds Mr. Drew Arellano, a television personality, for receiving vasectomy as his manifestation of love and appreciation for his spouse and family. This gesture strongly exemplifies responsible parenthood and family planning as promoted by the CPD.

“This comes as good news amidst the prevailing low level of participation of males in family planning as shown by the mere 0.1% of them accepting no-scalpel vasectomy. Currently, family planning is exercised mostly by women,” pahayag ng CPD.

Matatandaang last Monday ay nag-viral ang post ni Drew sa kanyang Instagram account na nagpa-vasectomy siya bilang Mother’s Day gift niya sa kanyang misis na si Iya.

Ayon naman kay Iya sa kanyang IG Stories, dapat ay last year pa nagpa-vasectomy ang mister pero dahil nabuntis siya sa kanilang 5th child na si Anya Love ay hindi muna ito natuloy.

Iya gave birth to their 5th child last February. Ang iba pa nilang anak ay sina Primo, Leon, Alana at Astro.
