INATASAN ng House committee on justice ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na magsumite ng official records upang beripikahin ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga benepisyaryong nakalista sa ilalim ng confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at ng Department of Education (DepEd), bilang bahagi ng nagpapatuloy na impeachment proceedings laban kay Vice President Sara Z. Duterte.

Sa isang subpoena ad testificandum et duces tecum, inutusan ng panel ang National Statistician at pinuno ng PSA na si Claire Dennis S. Mapa na humarap sa pagdinig sa Abril 14, at magsumite ng mga sertipikasyon mula sa Civil Registry System (CRS) ng PSA.

“You are hereby directed to appear before the hearing of the Committee on Justice on April 14, 2026, 10:00 A.M., at the 2nd Floor of the People Center, House of Representatives, and to submit the following documents,” ayon sa nakasaad sa utos.

Ang yumaong dating heneral ng pulisya at beteranong mambabatas na si Romeo Acop ng Antipolo City ang unang nagbukas ng isyu kaugnay ng kontrobersiyal na pangalang “Mary Grace Piattos” bilang umano’y benepisyaryo ng confidential funds.

Partikular na hinihingi sa subpoena ang “original copies of the certifications pertaining to the PSA’s verification made from the PSA’s Civil Registry System (CRS) database on the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB), Certificate of Marriage (COM), and Certificate of Death (COD) on several names found in the submissions of the Office of the Vice President and Department of Education.”

Ayon sa mga mambabatas, mahalaga ang testimonya ng PSA upang matukoy kung ang mga nakalistang tumanggap ng confidential funds ay may mapapatunayang civil records.

“Your testimony is needed to show that the recipient of the OVP’s and DepEd’s confidential funds had no birth, marriage, or death records, as well as to identify and authenticate the requested certifications,” pahayag ng komite.

Kabilang sa mga kinakailangang dokumento ang mga sertipikasyong may petsang Disyembre 8, 2024 at Disyembre 11, 2024.

Binibigyang-diin ng kautusan ang pagsisikap ng panel na patunayan ang mga dokumentong may kaugnayan sa paggamit ng confidential funds, isang pangunahing isyung binanggit sa mga beripikadong reklamo sa impeachment.

Inilabas ang utos noong Marso 31 at nilagdaan ng House committee on justice chairperson na si Batangas Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro at ni Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, na pinatotohanan ni House Secretary General Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil.

Ipinagpapatuloy ng House panel ang mga pagdinig upang tukuyin ang probable cause sa mga reklamo sa impeachment, isang mahalagang yugto bago ang posibleng pagpapadala ng kaso sa Senado para sa paglilitis.
