“DAPAT gamitin ang revenues ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.’s (Pagcor) sa pagsuporta sa mga vulnerable sectors ng bansa ngayong may oil crisis.”

Ito ang apela ni Solid North Party-list Rep. Ching Bernos kaugnay ng pagdeklara ng state of national emergency ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“Pagcor uses part of its revenues to fund socio-civic programs for the people.

As we face another crisis due to oil instability, I hope the government channels these funds towards programs that would soften the blow of the oil crisis on the most vulnerable sectors of society,” sabi ni Bernos, member ng House committee on games and amusements.

Noong 2025, nakapag-remit ang Pagcor ng P66.95 billion sa kaban ng bayan.

Umabot sa P12.77 billion sa kontribusyong ito ang inilaan sa socio-civic programs kasama ang sa Office of the President.

Ayon kay Bernos, dapat gamitin ang funds galing sa Pagcor sa mga high-impact projects na tutulong sa mga indigenous people, small farmers at mangingisda, indigent families, kababaihan at students.

“May potensyal na makatulong sa mas maraming Pilipino ang mga pondong ito kung gagamitin sa pagsiguro na may access sa pagkain, emergency income, fuel subsidy,” ayon sa the lawmaker.

Sa ilalim ng Presidential Decree 1869, entitled ang gobyerno sa 50 percent ng Pagcor gross gaming revenues.
