SINUPALPAL ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pagsasabing tumaas na naman ang krimen dahil sa paglaganap ng illegal na droga sa bansa.

Ayon kay Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, mali ang impormasyon at walang katotohanan ang mga pahayag ni Duterte.

“With due respect to former President Rodrigo Duterte- there is no truth to his statement that crime remains rampant in the country,” pahayag ni Bersamin.

Sa pagdinig sa Senado, sinabi ni Duterte na talamak na ulit ang illegal na droga sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Marcos.

“Statistics from the Philippine National Police (PNP) shows the complete opposite. There has been a widespread decline in crime across the board,” pahayag ni Bersamin..

“Moreover, we have achieved stability and maintained peace and order in our country without foregoing due process nor setting aside the basic human rights of any Filipino,” dagdag ng kalihim.

Tinukoy pa ni Bersamin ang naarestong drug suspect sa San Miguel, Manila na malapit lamang sa Malakanyang.

“Further, the incident which the former President cited- of a drug raid in San Miguel, Manila- is based on outdated information. In that case, one suspect was arrested, drug paraphernalia was seized, and his partner is now being pursued by law enforcement,” pahayag ni Bersamin.

“All of this shows that our country is safer, our people more secure, and our future more assured than ever before under the stewardship of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr,” dagdag ng kalihim.
