PORMAL nang hiniling ng Kamara de Representantes sa Senado ang paglalaan ng isang silid para sa House prosecution panel kaugnay ng isasagawang paglilitis ng impeachment court kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa isang liham na may petsang Marso 5, hiniling ni House Secretary General Reginald “Reggie” S. Velasco kay Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero na maglaan ng silid na magsisilbing opisina at holding area ng House prosecutors at House Secretariat Support Group (SSG) habang isinasagawa ang impeachment trial.

“On behalf of the House of Representatives Public Prosecution Panel, may I humbly request the assignment of a room in the Senate that will be utilized as a work and holding area for the Public Prosecutors and the House of Representatives Secretariat Support Group (SSG) for the duration of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte,” ani Velasco sa sulat.

Dagdag pa ni Velasco, nais nilang makita ang itatalagang opisina upang matiyak na akma ito sa pangangailangan ng prosekusyon.

“We request that we be allowed to conduct an ocular inspection on March 11, 2025, of the room to be assigned to determine how it will be set up to provide a comfortable and convenient working environment for the Public Prosecutors and the SSG,” aniya.

Natanggap ng Senado ang liham noong Marso 6.

Ang kahilingang ito ay bahagi ng paghahanda ng Kamara de Representantes sa kanilang tungkulin sa impeachment trial, kasunod ng pormal na pagpapadala ng Articles of Impeachment laban kay VP Duterte noong Pebrero.

Samantala, kinumpirma rin ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang pagtanggap ng isang liham mula kay Escudero noong Pebrero 24 na may kaugnayan sa verified impeachment complaint at sa paghahanda ng Senado para sa paglilitis.

“In line with established procedures, I have forwarded your letter to the House prosecution panel for their appropriate comment and action,” ayon kay Speaker Romualdez sa isang liham na may petsang Marso 3.

Siniguro rin ni Speaker Romualdez sa Senado na titiyakin ng Kamara na magiging patas at alinsunod sa Konstitusyon ang proseso ng impeachment.

“The House of Representatives trusts that the proceedings will be conducted with fairness, impartiality, and strict adherence to the provisions of the Constitution,” pahayag niya.

Binigyang-diin din ng Speaker ang kahalagahan ng maayos na uganayan sa pagitan ng dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso upang matiyak ang isang maayos at transparent na proseso ng impeachment.

“We appreciate your commitment to ensuring an orderly and transparent process and will remain in coordination as we fulfill our respective mandates,” dagdag niya.

Patuloy ang isinasagawang paghahanda ng House prosecution panel sa isasagawang impeachment trial ni Duterte, ang unang Bise Presidente ng bansa na na-impeach.
