PUMIRMA na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ng kontrata para sa pagtatayo ng Metro Rail Transit 4 (MRT-4) na tatakbo sa Taytay, Rizal hanggang Ortigas Avenue.

Ang kontrata ay nilagdaan ng DOTr sa pangunguna ni Secretary Jaime Bautista, at Shadow Operator Consultant na Ricardo Rail Australia Pty. Ltd. noong Marso 30 sa isang simpleng seremonya sa Mandaluyong City.

Ang MRT-4 ay may habang 13 kilometro at magiging operational sa 2028.

“I am confident this collaboration between ADB, the engineering consultants, the shadow operator consultant and DOTr will pave the way for the early start and on-time completion of this project,” sabi ni Bautista.

“We hope this will become a benchmark for the determination of private operators of other transport systems like rail lines, airports, seaports, ferry systems, even bus transits,” dagdag ng Kalihim.

Kapag natapos ang proyekto, ang biyahe mula Ortigas hanggang Taytay ay magiging 27 minuto na lamang mula sa kasalukuyang isa at kalahating oras.

Kaya nitong magsakay ng 399,372 pasahero kada-araw.
