SASAGUTIN ng Kamara de Representantes ang petisyong inihain sa Korte Suprema na kumukuwestyon sa legalidad ng Republic Act (RA) 11954 o ang Maharlika Investment Fund Act of 2023.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na iginagalang nito ang direktiba ng Korte Suprema na maghain ng komento sa petisyon sa itinakdang oras.

“The House of Representatives, under my leadership as the Speaker, affirms its commitment to the rule of law and will duly submit our comment within the ten-day timeframe,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Binigyang-diin ni Speaker Romualdez na ang MIF ay nilikha upang magkaroon ng bagong mekanismo ang bansa upang mabilis na umunlad ang ekonomiya.

“We have followed due legislative processes in crafting and enacting this law, keeping in mind the best interests of the Filipino people,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara na may 310 miyembro.

“The concerns raised by the petitioners deserve to be addressed comprehensively,” dagdag pa nito.

Mahalaga rin umanong ipabatid sa publiko na ang intensyon ng Kamara ay tiyakin na tama ang gagawing paggamit ng pondo ng bayan.

“It is important for the public to know that our intent was always to ensure transparency, accountability, and financial prudence in the management of public funds. We will thoroughly review the petition’s claims to ensure the Fund’s integrity and our adherence to the Constitution,” sabi pa nito.

“Our nation’s prosperity and welfare are at the forefront of our legislative agenda, and we remain open to any constructive dialogue that would further our shared goal of uplifting the lives of Filipinos,” dagdag pa ng lider ng Kamara.
