Love at romance tampok sa PSC’s Rise Up

ITATAMPOK ang love story nila dating volleyball stars Arlene Apostol at Antonio Ladimo sa isang natatanging episode ng Rise Up, Shape Up program ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ngayong Sabado.

Ibibida ng dalawang premyadong volleyball players kung paano nagsilbing cupid matchmaker ang naturang sport tungo sa kanilang 20 taong relasyon.

Kapwa naglaro sa UAAP sina Apostol at Ladimo at naging miyembro din ng men’s at women’s volleyball teams na sumabak sa Southeast Asian Games nun 1980s hanggang 1990s.

Nakasama si Apostol sa national team na nakasungkit ng tatlong gold medals para sa bansa sa SEA Ganes nung 1985, 1987, at 1993 SEA Games. Nakapag-uwi din sta ng silver at bronze medal sa 1983 at 1991 edisyon ng biennia l meet.

Samantala, si Antonio ay naging bahagi ng men’s team na nanalo ng bronze medal sa 1991 Games.

“The episode hopes to show a different picture of sports and its players, by showcasing how it can be fertile ground for blossoming friendship and love instead of just competition,” pahayag ni PSC Women in Sports Commissioner Celia H. Kiram.

“Aside from the romance, we want our audience to understand that love and passion for sports do create meaningful and life-changing connections. Sports, beyond the competitive spirit in the court or fields, bring people together,” dagdag pa ni Commissioner Kiram.

Magiging topic din ang maikling history ng volleyball sa “K-Isport” segment ni Commissioner Kiram.
