UPANG matugunan ang backlog sa mga plaka ng sasakyan umorder ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ng 15 milyong metal plates na ginagamit sa produksyon ng plaka.

Ayon kay LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza ang pagbili ay isinulong ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Secretary Jaime Bautista.

Mayroon umanong 13.2 milyong backlog sa mga plaka ng motorsiklo at 179,000 sa mga motor vehicle.

“We already ordered 15 million license plates and the delivery has already started. With this, we expect to address the backlog for both motor vehicles and motorcycles on a monthly basis,” sabi ni Mendoza.

Kumpiyansa si Mendoza na matutugunan ang lahat ng backlog at maging ang mga bagong rehistrong sasakyan.

“Humahabol na tayo kase bumibilis na po ‘yung delivery ng plates ‘no to the tune of 250,000 pairs every month for the motor vehicle and 1 million every month for the motorcycle. So this is speeding up already,” sabi ni Mendoza.

“Even our production capacity is also increasing at 32,000 per day or around 700,000 per month,” dagdag pa ni Mendoza.

Sinabi ni Mendoza na matutugunan ang lahat ng backlog sa susunod na taon.
