PINAG-IINGAT ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang publiko sa misinformation drive sa social media na pakulo ng mga tao na sumasakay sa pamamaril na nangyari sa Senado.

Ayon kay PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., inutusan na niya ang PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group na tumulong sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa pag-monitor sa mga content creator na sumasakay sa insidente para manakot.

“This is not the time for misinformation and an opportunity to sow fear and incite violence. Rather, this is the time for us to take a stand in fighting for what is right and just. On the part of the PNP, we will ensure accountability against those who would dare do that,” sabi ng hepe ng PNP.

Tiniyak niya na tuloy ang coordination ng PNP sa DICT para malaman ang mga nasa likod ng misinformation sa online.

Nagbabala rin ang DICT laban sa mga nagkakalat ng unverified information at fake news.

“We ask all our kababayan to refrain from engaging in speculations and remain calm instead as we commit to ferret out the truth about what happened. And also commit to making public the result of the investigation,” dagdag ng hepe ng PNP.
