SINAKSIHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pagpirma sa nalalabing civil work contract para sa itatayong south commuter section ng 147-kilometrong North-South Commuter Railway Project.

Ang nalalabing contract package– S-01, S-03a, at S-03c— ay bumubuo sa 14.9 kilometrong rail viaduct at istasyon ng NSCR mula Maynila hanggang Taguig at Muntinlupa.

Kasama rin sa kontrata ang pagtatayo ng anim na modernong istasyon sa Blumentritt, Buendia, EDSA, bagong Senate building, Bicutan at Sucat.

Sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na malaki ang maitutulong ng proyekto sa pagpapabilis ng biyahe at nagbibigay ng pag-asa sa kinabukasan ng bansa.

“As we hold the signing of Contract Packages S-01, S- 03a, and S-03c, we continue to show our commitment to realizing the dream of a more efficient and inclusive public transportation system that every Filipino deserve,” ani Pangulong Marcos.

“With the signing of these three contract packages that cover a total of around 14.9 kilometers of at-grade and railway viaduct structures, we will be a step closer to our goal of serving around 800,000 commuters daily in 2029,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.

Ayon kay Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista ang tatlong kontrata ay may kabuuang halagang P52 bilyon.

“The contractors must be able to build with the least disruption to Metro Manila’s already chaotic daily routine,” ani Secretary Bautista. “We want to impress on the contractors the importance of meeting schedules so the whole NSCR project can be completed as promised.”

Ang CP S-01 ay napunta sa Joint Venture ng PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, at PT PP (Persero) Tbk (“Adhi – PT PP JV”). Ito ay para sa paggawa ang 1.2 kilometrong railway viaduct structure at Blumentritt Station na idudugtong sa kasalukuyang Blumentritt Station ng LRT-1.

Ang CP S-03a ay nakuha naman ng Joint Venture ng Leighton Contractors (Asia) Ltd. at First Balfour Inc. Ito ay para sa 7.9 kilometrong at-grade at viaduct railway track structure at elevated station sa Buendia at at-grade station sa EDSA at Senado.

Ang CP S-03c ay nakuha naman ng Joint Venture ng PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. at PT PP (Persero) Tbk. Para ito sa 5.8 kilometrong at-grade at viaduct railway track structure at pagtatayo ng Bicutan at Sucat elevated station.

Bukod sa national government, ang buong NSCR project ay pinondohan ng Asian Development Bank at Japan International Cooperation Agency. Ang buong proyekto ay nagkakahalaga ng P873.6 bilyon.
