PAGCOR binigyang-diin ambag sa PH turismo, health and wellness
BINIGYANG-DIIN ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ang ambag nito sa tourism, health at wellness sector ng bansa sa ginanap na Health & Wellness Conference and Expo (HWONFEX) 2026 noong Biyernes, Setyembre 4.
Ayon kay PAGCOR Health Services and Wellness Department Officer-in-Charge Dr. Janice Saraza, na kumatawan kay Chairman at CEO Alejandro H. Tengco sa naturang event, higit pa sa pagiging gaming regulator ang papel ng ahensya sa pag- unlad ng bansa.
“The industry that we regulate is part of a much larger entertainment and tourism ecosystem. Our licensed integrated resorts, for one, attract visitors, create employment, support businesses and generate significant economic activity,” ani Suzara.
Ayon kay Dr. Saraza, kasabay ng pagtulong sa turismo ng gaming at entertainment sectors ay mahigpit ding ipinatutupad ng PAGCOR ang mga panuntunan para sa proteksyon ng mga manlalaro.
Aniya, ginagamit din ang kita ng PAGCOR para pondohan ang mga programa at proyekto ng pamahalaan para sa mahahalagang sektor tulad ng kalusugan, edukasyon at social development.
“We have built strong partnerships with our integrated casino licensees to support the construction of modern hospitals, provide state-of-the-art medical equipment, and help make essential healthcare services more accessible to communities that need them most,” ani Dr. Saraza.
Ibinida rin niya ang mga hakbang ng PAGCOR para itaguyod ang mental at emotional well-being ng mga manlalaro sa pamamagitan ng National Problem Gambling Helpline.
“This is why we recently partnered with the Seagulls Flock Organization to establish a 24/7 helpline that provides confidential counseling and professional referrals for individuals who are experiencing problem gambling,” aniya.
“These efforts reflect a simple but important truth: promoting well-being is not the responsibility of one sector alone,” dagdag ni Dr. Saraza.
Ang HWONFEX 2026 ay isang health, wellness at holistic healing expo at trade fair na naglalayong itampok ang Pilipinas bilang wellness tourism destination sa Southeast Asia.
May temang “Go Explore, Grow Communities, Glow Together,” ang event ay dinaluhan ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno, industry stakeholders at wellness advocates para talakayin ang paglago ng health and wellness sector ng bansa.
