Pangangalaga sa sinaunang sistema ng pagsusulat inaprubahan
SA botong 251, inaprubahan ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang House Bill No. 6069 na naglalayong pangalagaan ang sinaunang sistema ng pagsusulat sa bansa.
Walang tumutol sa pag-apruba sa HB No. 6069 o ang panukalang Philippine Indigenous and Traditional Writing Systems Act.
Sina TINGOG Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez at Jude Acidre ang pangunahing may-akda ng panukala.
“…While these writing systems are being revived again, it is becoming vulnerable and in danger of misrepresentation and alteration due to technological advancements. Proper and official recognized standardization, publication, and documentation must be established in order for the writing systems to sustain its intrinsic characteristics,” sabi ng mga may-akda sa HB No. 6069.
Sa ilalim ng panukala ay isasama ang indigenous writing systems sa mga subject sa basic at higher education upang hindi ito makalimutan. Gagawa rin ng mga aktibidad ang Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), at mga lokal na pamahalaan kaugnay ng pagpapalaganap ng paggamit nito lalo na tuwing Buwan ng Wika.
“It is the declared policy of the State to foster the preservation, enrichment, and dynamic evolution of a Filipino national culture based on the principle of unity in diversity in a climate of free artistic and intellectual expression. To this end, the State shall promote, protect, preserve, and conserve the Philippine indigenous and traditional writing systems as a means to inculcate patriotism and social consciousness among the citizenry,” sabi ng mga may-akda.
Magsasagawa rin ng mga seminar, conference, convention, symposia, at iba pang katulad na aktibidad para malinang ang paggamit ng sinaunang sistema ng pagsusulat.
