DAPAT kumbinsihin ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang kaniyang asawa na si Atty. Manases “Mans” Carpio, at kapatid na si Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, na humarap sa imbestigasyon at ilahad ang katotohanan kaugnay ng alegasyon na sila ay mayroong kinalaman sa shabu importation.

Ito ang payo nina House Deputy Majority Leader at Tingog Party List Rep. Jude Acidre at House Assistant Majority Leader Jil Bongalon kay Vice President Duterte na dapat din umanong itigil ang tangkang paglihis sa isyu.

“VP Sara is better off convincing her husband Mans and her brother Pulong to join the House quad-committee investigation. This will benefit her beleaguered family and the Filipino people, who, like us, want answers,” ani Acidre.

“We assure VP Sara that Atty. Mans and Cong. Pulong will be given the courtesies and respect due to them, given their stature. Walang halong pulitika ito. Pawang katotohanan lang ang pakay ng Quad-Comm,” giit pa ni Acidre.

Sa naging pagdinig noong nakaraang Biyernes ng quad comm, inilahad ni dating Bureau of Customs (BOC) intelligence officer na si Jimmy Guban na dawit ang anak ng dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na si Pulong, manugang na si Mans, at dating economic adviser nitong si Michael Yang sa tangkang pagpuslit ng bilyong pisong halaga ng shabu na itinago sa magnetic lifters sa Manila International Container Port noong 2018.

“These are grave allegations. The adage, ‘Don’t be afraid of you having nothing to hide,’ applies here,” tanong Acidre.

Samantala, binasag naman ni Bongalon ang pahayag ni Vice President Duterte na kwestyunable ang timing ng mga alegasyon sa kanyang pamilya na isa umanong political harassment.

“If she stands by that remark, then the same can be said about her. She began to assail the Marcos administration about supposedly longstanding problems in governance, but she only did it recently with the 2025 mid-term elections fast approaching. VP was quiet about all of these in her two years with the Marcos Cabinet,” sabi ni Bongalon.

“That, to me, is also suspect timing. It would go as far as to say that it is opportunistic. The bottom line is that her family members have a lot of explaining to do. They should stop insulting Filipinos by treating them like they were born yesterday,” dagdag pa nito.

Nagbitiw si Vice President Duterte bilang kalihim ng Department of Education (DepEd) noong Hulyo 19.
