PINANGUNAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang milestones ceremony para sa itatayong Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB).

Kumpiyansa si Pangulong Marcos na magbubukas ng bagong oportunidad sa pagpapaunlad ng kalakalan at pagnenegosyo sa rehiyon ang proyekto.

Target na matapos ang P173.6 bilyong BICB sa 2028.

“With the BCIB, it is projected that that five hours trip will now become as close – as quick as 30 minutes, reducing by as much as 86 percent, and we are reducing it to maybe 45 minutes of travel,” sabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang talumpati sa milestone ceremony na ginanap sa Mariveles, Bataan.

“That will be an incredible feat when it happens and would significantly help in decongesting Metro Manila as motorists will be able to travel without passing through the metropolis,” dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekutibo.

Makatutulong din ang proyekto upang bumaba ang presyo ng mga bilihin dahil liliit ang gastos ng mga negosyante sa transportasyon.

Ang proyekto ay tutugon din umano sa paglinang ng seaport sa dalawang probinsya.

Ang inter-island bridge ay mayroong habang 32.15 kilometro at apat na lane. Idurugtong nito ang Brgy. Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan sa Brgy. Timalan Concepcion, Naic, Cavite.
