TINIYAKa ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na isusulong ng kanyang administrasyon ang pagpapaganda ng public transportation system sa bansa.

Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos mayroong epekto ang sektor ng transportasyon sa pag-unlad ng bansa kaya mahalaga na matugunan ang mga isyu rito.

“I assure my fellow Filipinos that your government is working hard to improve the country’s transportation systems, operations, and management for the benefit of present and future generations,” ani Pangulong Marcos sa ceremonial signing ng loan agreement para sa Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP) sa Davao City.

Kumpiyansa ang Pangulo na maabot ng bansa ang maayos at mabilis na sistema ng transportasyon hangga’t ang mga Pilipino ay patnubay ng whole-of-nation at whole-of-society approach.

“We need to work together to pursue the much-needed modernization of our transport system in vital parts of the country, whether through better roads, highways and even railways. It’s not only good for the economy, but also, ultimately, for the health and general well-being of the public,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Ang DPTMP ay isang integrated network ng 29 na ruta na magdurugtong sa mga pangunahing commercial center sa Davao City.

Nagpasalamat ang Pangulo sa Asian Development Bank (ADB) sa pagsuporta sa proyekto.

“As we further our partnership, I am optimistic that we will come up and forge even more projects in the years ahead, especially those that aim to improve the lives and lessen the burden to the public,” dagdag pa ni Pangulong Marcos.

Tiniyak din ng Pangulo ang na tutulungan ng gobyerno ang mga pamilyang maaapektuhan ng proyekto.
