BINUWELTAHAN ni House Deputy Majority Leader at Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre ang aniya’y malisyosong mga tanong na isinama ng Pulse Asia sa kanilang survey noong Marso 6 hanggang 10 para alamin ang pulso ng mga Pilipino sa economic Charter change (Cha-cha).

“The latest Pulse Asia survey utterly failed to highlight what the heart and soul of our discussions in the House of Representatives regarding the bid to amend the 1987 Constitution; that is, to have a laser-focus on just economic-themed amendments,” ani Acidre.

“This Pulse Asia survey is riddled with questions and scenarios that spread fear among Filipinos about Cha-cha. By this reason alone, the survey results are invalid, unfair, and inapplicable to the current situation,” diin pa ng kongresista.

Partikular na pinuna ni Acidre ang mga tanong kaugnay ng opinyon ng may 1,200 respondent sa isyu ng pagpapalawig ng termino ng mga naka-upong halal na opisyal pagpapalit ng porma ng Kongreso mula sa bicameral patungong unicameral, pagpapalit ng sistema ng gobyerno mula presidential patungong parliamentary at mula unitary patungong federal.

Mayorya ng mga sumagot ang tutol sa naturang mga hakbang.

“That’s because these political-themed amendments aren’t on Resolution on Both Houses (RBH) No.7, which seeks to ease the restrictions on the economic provisions of the Charter. These weren’t brought up during our marathon discussions in the House because these were never part of our plans,” punto ni Acidre.

“For Pulse Asia to even ask these questions is malicious since it gives the impression that House members had planned these political amendments all along while only publicly selling the merits of economic Cha-cha,” paliwanag pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Noong Marso 20 ay pinagtibay ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikatlo at huling pag-basa ang RBH No. 7.

Ang kapareho nitong RBH No. 6 ay nakabinbin naman sa Senado.

“Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri and his fellow authors of RBH No.6 should be similarly enraged by Pulse Asia’s framing of the questions since it also made a mockery of their measure,” ani Acidre.

Ipinunto rin ni Acidre na noong Abril 2023, lumabas sa survey ng Pulse Asia na 41 porsyento ng mga Pilipino ang pabor sa pag-amyenda ng Konstitusyon.

“But now, less than a year later, Pulse Asia’s survey results shows that only 8 percent of Filipinos are in favor of Cha-cha and 88 percent are not in favor. This doesn’t make sense since, quite frankly, the discussions in the House in the weeks leading to RBH No.7’s passage were even more exhaustive than last year, when we approved a similar measure. Unless, of course, one takes into account the malicious questions of this year’s survey,” wika pa niya.

Kwestyonable rin aniya ang Pulse Asia Survey lalo at taliwas ito sa pinakahuling survey naman ng Tangere na nagpapakita na 52 porsyento o higit sa kalahati ng mga Pilipino ang pabor sa amyenda ng Konstitusyon.

“The Tangere survey shows that most Filipinos do understand the need to lift the economic restrictions in 37-year-old Constitution and allow the influx of more foreign direct investments,” ani Acidre.
