PINANGUNAHAN ni House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st Dist. Rep. Martin G. Romualdez ang pagbibigay pugay sa namayapa at dating Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Manuel “Lolong” Lazaro. Matapos dumalaw ang mambabatas sa lamay ni Lazaro sa Sanctuario de San Antonio sa Forbes Park, Makati City.
Si Lazaro ay dating Chairman ng Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa)/ Isang “non-partisan” organization na ang pangunahing adbokasiya ay ipagtanggol, panatilihin at depensahan ang Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas.
“We are all here today and we are still in disbelief that our leading light, Justice Lolong has gone ahead of us,” sabi ni House Majority Leader Martin G. Romualdez sa Eulogo para kay Lazaro.
Inilarawan pa ni Romualdez, Pangulo ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) si Lazaro bilang isang “dakilang tao o great man” na ipinakita naman nito sa kaniyang hindi matatawarang serbisyo publiko sa larangan ng “legal profession”.
“He had set the bar so high for a former member of the Court of Appeals (CA).A Justice par excellance, he belonged to that rare breed of lawyers in the Country who masterfully balance his work ansd Justice and a family man,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez patungkol kay Lazaro.
