TINULIGSA ni dating Sen. Leila de Lima si Sen. Imee Marcos sa pagiging pangunahing apologist umano ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte matapos sabihin na “overacting” o OA ang mga kritiko ng secret deal na pinasok nito sa China kaugnay ng paghahatid ng suplay sa mga sundalong nasa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal na sakop ng West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Ayon sa mga ulat, sinabi ni Sen. Marcos na praktikal lamang ang ginawa Duterte na umani ng kritisismo kay De Lima at iba pang personalidad at grupo.

“Sen. Imee is just being consistent in her role as a top Duterte defender/apologist which baffles many,” ani De Lima, na nakulong noong panahon ni Duterte matapos kondenahin ang madugong war on drugs na ikinamatay ng libu-libong Pilipino.

“What is clear is that Duterte entered into a secret agreement with Xi Jinping on the non-confidential subject-matter of resupply trips to our outpost in Ayungin Shoal well within our EEZ, the supposed details of which are just being disclosed now,” sabi ni De Lima.

Hindi umano maintindihan ni De Lima kung papaanong si Sen. Marcos, na siyang chair ng Senate Committee on Foreign Relations ay nagagawang ipagtanggol si Duterte sa pagsuko sa China ng teritoryo at exclusive economic zone ng bansa.

“The secretive manner of the conduct of foreign policy on a matter as important as surrendering our prerogatives within our own EEZ only makes the whole affair suspicious and reeking of a treasonous sell-out.”

Nauna ng sinabi ni De Lima na si Duterte at mga miyembro ng Gabinete nito ay mga traydor dahil sa kanilang pagpasok sa isang gentleman’s agreement kasama ang China. Sa naturang kasunduan ay wala umanong ipadadalang suplay ang Pilipinas sa BRP Sierra Madre upang makumpuni ito ng mga sundalo.

Ang BRP Sierra Madre ay nagsisilbing istasyon ng mga sundalo sa WPS na isang paggiit na ito ay bahagi ng EEZ ng Pilipinas.

“Two years after they left office, the Duterte Cabinet continues its tradition of disorganization, incompetence and confusion. Now Panelo is saying there was never a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between Duterte and Xi Jinping, after Roque said there was and that because BBM is not living up to this secret agreement, the Philippines will lose Ayungin,” sabi ni De Lima.

“Which is which? These being Duterte’s men, there is no hope in getting any clear message or straightforward answer from them. But it does not matter. The only thing that matters is we know they are all traitors and will sell us for 30 pieces of silver. Mga Hudas sila sa Pilipinas at sa lahat ng mga Pilipino,”dagdag pa ng dating senador na naging chair din ng Commission on Human Rights.

Nauna ng sinabi ni Harry Roque, ang dating presidential spokesman ni Duterte na batay sa kasunduan ay walang construction material na ipadadala sa BRP Sierra Madre kundi pagkain at tubig lamang.
