BUKAS ang Kamara de Representantes sa pakikipag-usap sa Senado kaugnay ng panukala na baguhin ang Konstitusyon.

Ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang inaprubahan ng Kamara de Representantes ay ang pag-amyenda sa economic provision ng Konstitusyon sa pamamagitan ng Constitutional Convention (Con-Con).

Kung ang nais umano ng Senado ay idaan sa Constituent Assembly (Con-Ass) ang pag-amyenda, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ito ay kanilang pagdedesisyunan.

“The House leadership, however, is willing to open discussions with the Senate on their preferred mode of amending the Constitution if that will lead to an agreement between the two chambers,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na bukas ito na dalhin sa mga miyembro ng Kamara ang magiging desisyon ng Senado.

Ito umano ang ipinarating na mensahe ni Speaker Romualdez kay Leyte Rep. Richard Gomez nang sabihin nito sa kanya na Con-Ass ang nais ng mga senador na kanyang kasama sa PDP-Laban.

“This was what I relayed to Rep. Richard Gomez when he informed me that senators are amenable to economic amendments but through Constituent Assembly,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

“ I commend the efforts of Rep. Gomez and Sen. Robinhood Padilla in trying to forge an agreement between the House of Representatives and the Senate on this issue.”
