INIHAYAG ni Mayor Honey Lacuna na ang P10 bilyon ng kabuuang P25 bilyong budget ng Maynila para sa 2025 ang inilaan sa social services.

Aminado ang alkalde na lumobo ang P16 na bilyong pondo noong nakaraang taon sa Maynila dahil 40 porsiyento ng kabuuang P25 bilyon para sa social services na kayang kolektahin sa susunod na taon dahil sa paglago ng ekonomiya habang ang P5.5 bilyon para sa general public services.

“Our capital outlay next year is only about P183 million because we are still paying for the P17.8 billion in infra loans incurred by the former mayor. Next year our debt payments total nearly P1.2 billion. That is the measure of fiscal irresponsibility the former mayor had and still has,” sabi ng alkalde.

“But we have been continuing and completing those infra projects because those are in the contracts with the banks and a moral obligation to all residents of Manila,” dagdag pa niya.

Ipinaliwanag niya na ang P1.78 bilyon na bahagi ng P10 blilyon para sa ayuda sa mga senior citizens, ang P1.247 bilyon inilaan sa pondong pang-kalamidad, habang ang P1.069 bilyon sa 20 porsiyento ng pondong pang-kaunlaran.

“We also budgeted P360 million for indigent persons with disabilities and P210 million for the PWD social amelioration program. We also allocated P369 million for cash aid to calamity victims, P590.75 million for next Christmas’ noche buena boxes, P162 million for solo parents, P82.5 million for Food for Work, and P24.5 million for aid to relocatees,” sabi pa ng alkalde.
