UMAPELA si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa mga scientist at researcher sa bansa na manatili sa bansa at maging bahagi sa pag-unlad.

Sa 2022 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW), binigyang halaga ni Pangulong Marcos ang science and technology sa pag-unlad ng bansa.

“I encourage our Filipino scientists, researchers, inventors and innovators, to continue sharing your expertise, especially to young people,” ani Pangulong Marcos. “I urge you to stay in the country as you pursue your career. We will continue to support you and continue to look to you to be active partners of the government.”

Hinimok ni Marcos ang mga ito na makipagtulungan sa gobyerno upang mapa-unlad ang buhay ng mga Pilipino.

“I also urge the DOST and all other concerned agencies to allocate resources to institutions that carry out research and development,” sabi pa ng Pangulo.

Nanawagan din si Pangulong Marcos sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST) na dagdagan ang scholarship para sa mga estudyante na magiging scientist ng bansa sa hinaharap.

“Through this, we will institute a scholarship program, specifically for STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) students and this will not be limited to those who have shown their capabilities, their ability and how they deserve these scholarships here in the Philippines but to any institution that they are accepted to abroad. So this is important so that they continue to develop our workforce, we continue to develop our capabilities, and our knowledge,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.

Kinilala rin ng Pangulo ang kahalagahan ng mga programa ng DOST sa pagtugon sa pagpaparami ng suplay ng pagkain, paglikha ng trabaho, at pagpapa-unlad ng kalusugan, edukasyon, at pagtugon sa climate change.
