NAGBABALA si dating Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers sa Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), Department of Justice (DOJ), Ombudsman, mga media outlet at iba pang ahensiyang nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon laban sa paglitaw ng mga “bogus” o dummy complainants.

Aniya, ang tanging layunin ng mga pekeng complainant ay iligaw o hadlangan ang kasalukuyang pagsisiyasat ng gobyerno sa umano’y iregular na mga proyektong pang-imprastruktura sa buong bansa.

Dahil sa libo-libo, kung hindi man daan-daang libong datos, dokumento at kaugnay na impormasyon tungkol sa mga kuwestiyonableng flood control at iba pang proyekto na iniaalok o ibinibigay sa kanila ng iba’t ibang kumpanya at personalidad, kabilang ang mga lumabas sa portal ng Malacañang na Sumbong sa Pangulo, nanawagan ang mambabatas mula Mindanao sa mga kaukulang ahensiya at media na maging maingat at suriin ang kredibilidad at motibo ng ilang complainants.

Naglabas ng pahayag si Barbers, dating House quad committee lead chair at chair ng House committee on dangerous drugs, kasunod ng ulat na dalawang “pseudo” complainants ang humarap sa ICI noong Martes na may dalang “fabricated” affidavit para magsampa ng reklamo kaugnay ng umano’y iregular na proyekto sa ikalawang distrito ng Surigao del Norte.

Sinabi niya na ang dalawang pekeng complainants ay posibleng “used and paid for” ng mga kalabang pampulitika ng kanyang pamilya na desperado umanong mailigtas ang kanilang sarili mula sa pagkakasangkot sa diumano’y P10.75 bilyong anomalya sa mga proyekto sa Siargao Islands, na ilan ay personal na nakita ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon sa isang ocular inspection kamakailan.

“I was informed that the two complainants – one who is reportedly a former drug addict and one who was a dismissed employee (for graft and corruption) of the SDN regional hospital – are being paid well and are being used by our now desperate rivals to make ‘noises’ at the ICI and social media on alleged anomalous projects in my District,” ani Barbers.

“Those ‘noises’ is just a propaganda or strategy being used by our political opponents as a ‘smokescreen’ to deflect the grave issues thrown at them by government probe bodies like the DoJ, the ICI and the Ombudsman, including the DPWH, who are now in possession of huge volumes of evidences on their clan’s involvement in the more than P10 billion worth of ghost, unfinished and substandard government infra projects in SDN’s 1st District,” dagdag niya.
