KUMPIYANSA ang 11-man House prosecution team na matibay na matibay ang kaso at sapat ang mga ebidensya upang ma-convict si Vice President Sara Duterte sa Senate impeachment trial court.

Ayon kay House Assistant Majority Leader Pammy Zamora ng Taguig City, ang planong ipa-subpoena ang bank records ni Duterte ay pandagdag lamang sa mga ebidensya kaugnay ng mga paratang na iregularidad sa paggamit ng pondo at nakaw na yaman.

“The prosecution team is ready to present a strong case, even without the bank records. The evidence we have right now is compelling and backed by documents, testimonies, and official records,” sabi ni Zamora.

“But if we can secure the Vice President’s financial records, it will be the icing on the cake—a definitive, undeniable piece of evidence that will speak for itself, supporting several of the Articles of Impeachment,” dagdag pa nito.

Binigyang-diin pa ni Zamora na ang impeachment case laban kay Duterte ay mayroong matibay na pundasyon ng katotohanan na mula sa mga ebidensyang lumabas sa pagdinig ng Kamara.

Ipinunto niya na ang mga taga-usig ng Kamara ay:

-Nakakuha ng mga opisyal na dokumento kaugnay ng umano’y iregularidad sa paggamit ng confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd).

-Nakapangalap ng mga testimonya na nag-uugnay sa mga kahina-hinalang transaksyon sa umano’y hindi wastong paggamit ng pondo.

-Nagtatag ng isang timeline na nagpapakita ng mga di-umano’y hindi pagkakatugma sa paglalaan at paggastos ng pondo ng bayan.

-Nakipag-ugnayan sa mga ahensyang may tungkulin sa pagbabantay ng pondo, tulad ng Commission on Audit (COA), upang subaybayan ang cashflow.

“Our case does not depend on a single piece of evidence. We have already connected the dots. The financial records, if obtained, will simply validate and confirm what the documents and testimonies have already revealed,” paliwanag pa nito.

Bagama’t matibay na ang kaso laban kay Duterte, ayon kay Zamora, mahalaga pa ring i-subpoena ang kanyang mga bank record—hindi dahil kulang ang ebidensya kundi dahil kailangang ipakita ng mga opisyal ng gobyerno ang ganap na transparency sa kanilang yaman, lalo na kung may matagal nang mga alegasyon ng hindi maipaliwanag na yaman.

Paalala pa ng kongresista, ang impeachment ay natatanging exemption sa Bank Secrecy Law o Republic Act 1405. Kaya’t maaari itong gamitin bilang ebidensya sa kasong ito.

Ganito rin aniya ang nangyari sa impeachment noong 2012 laban sa yumaong si Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona, kung saan ginamit ang bank records bilang ebidensya na sa huli ay humantong sa kanyang pagkakasakdal at pagpapatalsik sa puwesto.

“The question is simple: if there is nothing to hide, why resist transparency? The Bank Secrecy Law does not apply in impeachment cases, and we trust that the Senate, when it convenes, will see the necessity of making these records available,” ayon kay Zamora.

Sinisiguro rin ni Zamora ang publiko na handang-handa ang prosecution para sa paglilitis at ibibigay ang lahat ng ebidensyang kinakailangan para sa makatarungang pagpapasya ng Senado.

“The House has done its job. We have built a strong case, gathered the necessary documents, and identified the key witnesses. We trust that the Senate, in its role as an Impeachment Court, will allow the full truth to come out,” saad ng kongresista.

Binanggit din ni Zamora na hindi nagtatapos sa mga lokal na ahensya ang imbestigasyon, at kung kinakailangan, maaaring makipag-ugnayan sa mga international financial regulators upang matunton ang mga transaksyong ginawa sa ibang bansa.

“Financial trails don’t just stop at our borders. If there are fund movements that require deeper scrutiny, we are prepared to take the necessary steps to ensure full accountability,” dagdag pa nito.

Tiniyak pa ni Zamora na matibay ang impeachment case, at ang tanong na lamang ay kung magiging tapat si Duterte o patuloy na iiwas sa pananagutan.

“The public deserves to know the full truth. The evidence we already have is enough, but we are determined to uncover everything. No public official should be above scrutiny—not even the Vice President,” wika pa nito.
