WALANG impeachment trial laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte sa Hulyo 27 at 28 upang bigyang-daan ang State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at ang contra-SONA ng Senate minority.

Sinabi ni Presiding Officer Francis “Chiz” Escudero na nagkasundo ang mga senator-judge sa caucus na huwag magsagawa ng trial sa Lunes at Martes.

Walang pagdinig sa Hulyo 27 habang ihahatid ni Marcos ang kanyang SONA sa joint session ng Kongreso.

Wala ring trial sa Hulyo 28 upang mabigyan ng panahon ang minority senators na ihanda at ihayag ang kanilang tradisyunal na tugon sa SONA.

“During caucus, the senator-judges agreed for next week there will be no trial on Monday, given that that is the State of the Nation of the President,” sinabi ni Escudero.

“There will be no trial on Tuesday to afford the Minority the opportunity to prepare and deliver their contra-SONA, which is a tradition in relation to the State of the Nation Address by the President,” dagdag niya.

Magpapatuloy ang impeachment trial sa Hulyo 29, mula alas-10 ng umaga hanggang alas-3 ng hapon.

Magsisimula ang regular na sesyon ng Senado sa alas-4 ng hapon.

“So our next trial date, for your information, which we will clarify on Wednesday, tomorrow, will be on July 29,” sinabi ni Escudero.

Magkakaroon ng maikling break sa loob ng limang-oras na trial.

Simula Agosto, isasagawa ang impeachment trial tuwing Lunes hanggang Miyerkules, mula alas-10 ng umaga hanggang alas-3 ng hapon.

Hiniling ni Escudero sa mga abogado ng prosecution at defense na tandaan ang bagong iskedyul.
