Pagsasapribado ng operasyon, maintenance ng NAIA posible sa 2024
POSIBLE umanong sa susunod na taon mangyari ang pagsasapribado ng operasyon at maintenance ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Ayon kay Transportation Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Roberto Lim marami pang kailangang gawin bago maaaring mangyayari ang pagpasok ng pribadong sektor sa operasyon ng NAIA.
“That is a very tough and tight schedule. We can say that is doable in the first quarter of next year. It is doable that there will be a conclusion that could possibly be proclaimed by the government,” ani Lim. “That takes time. If there is more than one participant, we will have to talk to all of them. It will take time.”
Sinabi ni Lim na inaasahan na mas magiging maganda ang serbisyo sa mga paliparan kapag pribadong sektor na ang nagpapatakbo nito.
Mananatili naman na ang gobyerno ang nagmamay-ari ng paliparan at ang Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) ang regulator ng maintenance provider.
“There is a lot of upside when your upgrade NAIA. You introduce efficiencies. That means you can process more passengers, you can take in more flights, and more revenues—means larger share for the government,” paliwanag ng opisyal.
Wala rin umanong inaasahang tanggalan ng mga empleyado sa pagsasapribado ng operasyon.
