THE Philippines and Malaysia will identify new areas of synergy when President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Maria Louise Araneta-Marcos visit Kuala Lumpur on July 25 to 27, 2023.

Foreign Affairs spokesperson Teresita Daza said the President and the First Lady, who were invited by the King of Malaysia, will have an audience with the latter.

Marcos is also set to meet Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the visit .

During the visit, the President will meet with prominent Filipino and Malaysian business leaders to enhance bilateral trade and investment and to enhance the economic opportunities for the Filipinos.

While in Malaysia, the President will have the opportunity to meet with the Filipino community living there and personally inform them of his administration’s plans and programs for the Overseas Filipinos.

This reciprocal visit between the Leaders of both countries in 2023 is a testament to the reinvigorated relationship between the Philippines and Malaysia, Daza said.

It is also timely as the Philippines and Malaysia will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024, she added.
