NAGLULUKSA ngayon ang liderato ng Kamara de Representantes matapos magpa-abot ng taos pusong pakikiramay si House Majority Leader at Leyte Rep. Martin G. Romualdez dahil sa biglaang pagpanaw ng kasamahan nitong mambabatas na si 2nd Dist. Camarines Norte Rep. Marisol Conejos Panotes.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na malaking kawalan si Panotes sa hanay ng mga mambabatas sapagkat siya ay isang aktibong miyembro ng mayorya sa Kongreso.

Ito rin ang Vice-Chairperson ng House Committee on Disaster Resilience at Committee on Population and Family Relations.

Bukod dito, ipinagmalaki din ng Majority Leader na si Panotes ay kasapi din ng 14 na malalaking komite sa Mababang Kapulungan. Kabilang dito ang House Committee on Foreign Relations, Basic Education and Culture, Higher and Technical Education, Banking and Finance, Financial Intermediaries at Bicol Recover and Development.

“We condole with her family, relatives and friends at this difficult time. We will miss her, May she rest in peace,” malungkot na pahayag ni Romualdez sa pagpanaw ni Panotes. Maging si House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco ay nagpaabot na rin ng kaniyang pakikiramay sa pagpanaw ni Panotes.

Kung saan, sinabi ni Velasco na ang nasabing kongresista ay isang mapagmahal na Ina, kaibigan Lola at mahusay na public servant at tapat na mambabatas.

“Rep. Panotes was a loving mother, a caring grandmother and a devoted public servant. As a legislator, she principally authored and co-authored important pieces of legislation which have grat impact on the lives of Filipinos. Such as the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021, Salary Standardization Law of 2019 and Dood Manners and Right and Values Education Act of 2020,” sabi ni Velasco.
