BINUKSAN na ang bagong Sub-Port sa Laoag upang mas mapaganda ang serbisyong hatid ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa publiko.

Pinangunahan nina BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio at Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Marcos-Manotoc sa pagbubukas ng Sub-Port sa Laoag International Airport noong Agosto 8.

Ang Sub-Port of Laoag ang pinakabagong dagdag sa pangangasiwaan ni Port of Aparri Acting District Collector Elenita A. Abaño sunod sa Sub-Port of Irene na binuksan noong Pebrero 16, 2023 at Sub-Port of Currimao na binuksan noong Agosto 8, 2022.

Nagpasalamat naman si Raechelle H. Baviera, ang tatayong BOC Laoag Acting Sub-Port Collector, sa pagtitiwala at suporta sa kanya ni Commissioner Rubio at Acting District Collector Abaño.

Kinilala rin ni Baviera ang dedikasyon at pagsusumikap ng buong BOC Aparri upang mabuksan ang bagong tanggapan.

Nagpasalamat din si Acting District Collector sa mga nagsama-sama upang mabuksan ang sub-port.

“My heart is filled with mixed emotions, from previously being situated in a town house three kilometers from the airport, I am joyful that finally, for the first time, during my time as BOC Aparri’s Acting District Collector, the Sub-Port of Laoag already has an office within the airport,” ani Abaño.

Sinabi naman ni Commissioner Rubio na isang malaking karangalan para sa kanya na mailapit ang serbisyo ng BOC sa mga Ilocano.

“Apart from expanding our operations to this location in furtherance of bolstering economic growth in the region, we likewise aim to provide a comfortable environment and secure workplace for our customs officers,” ani Commissioner Rubio.
