SUV na nag-illegal u-turn may SCO mula LTO
NAGLABAS ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) noong Miyerkules, Oktubre 9, ng Show Cause Order (SCO) laban sa rehistradong may-ari ng sports utility vehicle (SUV) na iligal na nag-u-turn sa EDSA-Aurora underpass, na naging viral sa social media ang video.
Ayon kay LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, ang ginawa ng driver ng Hyundai Tucson na may plate number na ZMM842 ay padalos-dalos at iresponsable, dahil hindi lamang niya inilagay sa panganib ang kanyang buhay kundi pati na rin ang ibang motorista.
“We already received a formal complaint from MMDA chairman Don Artes regarding this incident and this is now the subject of our investigation. Our immediate response was to issue an SCO,” ani Assec Mendoza.
Batay sa SCO na nilagdaan ni Renate Melitante, hepe ng LTO-Intelligence and Investigation Division, pinatatawag ang rehistradong may-ari mula sa Lungsod ng Makati na dumalo sa LTO Central Office sa Oktubre 14 upang magbigay-linaw tungkol sa insidente.
Inatasan din ang rehistradong may-ari na isama ang driver ng sasakyan sa unang pagdinig, kasama ang kanilang nakasulat na paliwanag kung bakit hindi sila dapat maparusahan.
Kabilang sa mga kasong administratibo laban sa driver ay ang Reckless Driving (Sec. 48 ng Republic Act (RA) 4136) at Obstruction of Traffic (Sec. 54 ng RA 4136).
“The involved driver is further directed to submit a comment/explanation why his/her driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked for being an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle pursuant to Sec. 27(a) of R.A. 4136 in connection with the incident,” ayon sa SCO.
Sinabi ni Assec Mendoza na naipaalam na sa rehistradong may-ari ng nasabing Hyundai Tucson na may plate number na ZMM842 na ang sasakyan ay nasa ilalim na ng alarma upang maiwasan ang anumang transaksyon habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon.
“Failure to appear and submit the written comment/explanation as required shall be construed by this Office as a waiver of your right to be heard, and the case shall be decided based on the evidence at hand,” ayon sa SCO.
Sinabi ni Assec Mendoza na naipaalam na rin sa tanggapan ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista ang aksyon ng LTO.
