WALANG nakikitang mali ang mga kongresista sa naging pahayag nina Justice Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla at Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra kaugnay ng posisyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. na hindi nito tutulungan o pipigilan ang International Criminal Court (ICC) kaugnay ng imbestigasyon nito sa mga kaso ng extrajudicial killings sa war on drugs ng Duterte administration.

Ito ang sinabi ng mga miyembro ng Young Guns na sina Taguig Rep. Amparo Maria “Pammy” Zamora, PBA Rep. Margarita “Atty. Migs” Nograles, 1RIDER Rep. Ramon Rodrigo “Rodge” Gutierrez, at Davao Oriental Rep. Cheeno Miguel Almario.

“I remember last January, sinabi ni President Bongbong Marcos that the government will not lift a finger in aiding the probe. So hindi nila tutulungan. Doon din naman nanggagaling si Sec. Guevarra na hindi nila tutulungan pero hindi rin sila gagawa ng kahit ano mang paraan na pagbawalan ang ICC na pumasok sa bansa,” sabi ni Zamora

Sa isang privilege speech, tinuligsa ni Dela Rosa ang DOJ at SolGen sa magkahiwalauy nitong pahayag na hindi pipigilan ang ICC prosecutors na nag iimbestiga kay dating Pangulong Duterte at sa senador sa kanilang kinakaharap na crimes against humanity complaint.

“So parang hindi naman kumokontra sa sinabi ni President Marcos yung actions ni Sec. Guevarra at ni Sec. Remulla dahil malinaw naman. Again, sinabi lang ng Presidente that the government would not lift a finger in aiding, na tulungan yung pag-probe ng ICC, so parang wala namang kontra doon,” ani Zamora.

Kinuwestyon naman ni Nograles kung bakit naaalarma si Dela Rosa gayong una nang sinabi ng senador na hindi siya natatakot sa ICC.

“When this whole ICC thing started, Senator Bato said hindi siya takot, hindi ba? And then later on, bigla siyang umiyak kasi mayroon daw siyang mga grandchildren. Ngayon, he’s saying alarming ‘yung statements. Why is it alarming? Where is this coming from?” tanong ni Nograles

“Hindi ba kung wala ka namang kasalanan, why would you be alarmed? I don’t understand also why that’s his reaction,” dagdag niya.

“We shouldn’t stop whatever the ICC will do within their mandate. If they want to come in, wala tayong gagawin. We will not lift a finger, we will not also aid. They can come here to the Philippines and look … as long as they respect our laws, they do not do anything to torture, to threaten.”

Bagamat nirerespeto naman ni Gutierrez ang kalayaan ni Dela Rosa na ihayag ang takot at alinlangan, wala naman siyang nakikitang mali sa pahayag ng DOJ at SolGen.

“But I don’t think there’s anything contradictory sa ginagawa po ng Executive ngayon. The President said they will not help as much as that is against what I want. I’m glad that at least, they will not prohibit if that is truly the position of the Executive” an Gutierrez

Sinangayunan naman ito ni Almario. “As what the President already said, we will not help them. We will not lift a finger.”

“Pero let’s not also be hostile into them, there’s no need na rin eh. We’ve already establish that we are a nation that wants to make more friends. We are a nation that wants to get the help of other nations to protect our very own country,” wika pa niya.
