MAKAKATULONG umano ng malaki ang panukalang batas na maglalatag ng national infrastructure program na ipatutupad sa loob ng 30 taon mula 2023.

Ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang House Bill No. 8078 na inaprubahan ng Kamara sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ay tutukoy sa mga mahahalagang proyekto na makapagpapabuti sa kalagayan ng mga Pilipino.

“This will be an all-encompassing program covering not only public works like roads, bridges and expressways, which we commonly refer to as infrastructure, but also energy, water resources, information and technology, agri-fisheries, food logistics, and socially-oriented structures such as school buildings and other educational facilities,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang pagtatayo ng mga imprastraktura ay makalilikha ng mga trabaho at mga oportunidad upang kumita ang mga Pilipino.

“It would institutionalize the ‘Build Better More’ program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to support a strong economy that would generate more job and income opportunities for our people, and build a resilient and reliable national infrastructure network,” wika pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, tutukuyin ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), sa tulong ng iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno ang mga infrastructure project na itatayo sa loob ng 30 taon.

Ang pondo na ilalaan sa programa ay kasing halaga ng limang porsyento ng gross domestic product. Hindi naman maaari na mas malaki pa ang halaga nito sa ilalaan sa edukasyon alinsunod sa Konstitusyon.
