PCAP winners tatanggap ng pabuya

BUKOD sa magandang exposure sa gagawing paglahok sa first Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) Inter-School chess championships simula July 8, makaaasa ang mga mananalong teams na makapag-uuwi ng kaukulang cash prizes.
Inihayag ni PCAP president- commissioner Atty. Paul Elauria na ang mananalong team sa naturang four-day competition ay mag-uuwi ng kabuuang P30,000 cash prize.
Ang runner-up tatanggap ng P20,000, ang third placer ay P10,000 at fourth placer P5,000.
“We want to give our young players the opportunity to experience playing chess, PCAP-style. But  we’re also giving away juicy cash prizes to all the winners for their efforts,”  paliwanag ni Elauria, patungkol sa  kumpetisyon na bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng International Chess Day sa July 20.
Sa kasalukuyan, higit 30 universities and colleges ang nakapagpatala na tournament,  na gagawin din sa July 9, July 15 at July 16.
Nangunguna sa mahabang listahan anf Ateneo de Manila, La Salle-College of St. Benilde, Chiang Kai Shek College, St. Stephen’s High School, San  Sebastian College, Jose Rizal University,
International School, VCIS-Taguig, VCIS-Pasig, Technological Institute of the Philippines, MGC, Rizal High School, LICS-Pasig 1, LICS Pasig-2, at provincial teams Ateneo de Zamboanga, Silliman University at University of Nueva Caceres.
Nagpahayag naman ng kasiyahan si PCAP chairman Michael Angelo Chua ng two-time PCAP champion San Juan Predators sa madaming kalahok para sa inaugural PCAP Inter-School tournament.
“Most of the participating colleges and universities have strong and vibrant  chess program for their students. We hope to encourage other schools to do the same  through this PCAP competition,” pahayag ni Chua.
Bukod sa  Inter-School Championship, ilulunsad din ng PCAP ang Inter-Commercial League sa August at ang pinakaaabangang  PCAP Wesley So Cup sa September.
“After the PCAP First Conference won by the Pasig Pirates of Mayor Vico Sotto and coach Franco Camillo, we are moving on with more tournaments in the second half of the year,” dagdag ni Elauria.
