MULING nadagdagan ng bilang ng mga miyembro ng Lakas- Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) sa Kamara de Representantes.

Ngayong Miyerkoles ay nanumpa bilang mga miyembro sina Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” D. Gonzales Jr. at Reps. Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II ng Pampanga at Zaldy S. Villa ng Siquijor.

Sa kanilang pagsali ay umakyat sa 77 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga miyembro ng Lakas-CMD sa kasalukuyang Kamara de Representantes.

Ang Lakas-CMD, na pinamumunuan ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang pinakamalaking partido sa Kongreso sa kasalukuyan.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ang pagpasok nina Gonzales, Lazatin, at Villa ay mas lalong magpapatatag sa representasyon ng kanilang partido sa mas malaking kapulungan.

“We are very honored to welcome Senior Deputy Speaker Dong, Cong. Jon and Cong. Zaldy to our party. They are a great addition to the strength and diversity of Lakas-CMD, which is a coalition of hard-working public servants who share a common goal of serving the Filipino people with integrity and dedication under President Marcos’ administration,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

“Our party remains steadfast in its dedication to nation-building and we thank those joining us for committing to contribute to shaping a better and progressive Philippines,” sabi pa nito.

Ang tatlo ay dating mga miyembro ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

Pinangasiwaan ni Speaker ang panunumpa ng tatlo sa isang simpleng seremonya sa Social Hall ng Office of the Speaker sa Batasan Complex, Quezon City.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na malaki ang maitutulong ng mga bagong miyembro sa partido dahil sa kanilang malawak na karanasan.

“Lakas-CMD is poised to continue its legacy of service to the nation given our unity, diversity, and shared values as its cornerstones,” dagdag pa nito.

Noong Martes ay pinangasiwaan din si Speaker Romualdez ang panunumpa ni Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing bilang miyembro ng Lakas-CMD. Sinaksihan ito nina House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe at Agusan Del Norte Rep. Jose “Joboy” Aquino.
