IPINAGDIWANG ng Kamara de Representantes, sa pamumuno ni Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, ang Araw ng Paggawa sa pamamagitan ng muling pagtitiyak na kanilang tinututukan ang kapakanan ng mga manggagawa sa pamamagitan ng serye ng mga batas na naipasa sa paggabay ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., na layong iangat ang kabuhayan ng mga manggagawang Pilipino.

“Labor Day is not just about honoring the Filipino worker – it is about delivering real, lasting change to improve their lives,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Sinabi niya na ito ang naging pangunahing layunin ng Kamara mula sa pagsisimula ng 19th Congress noong 2022.

“To turn respect into results, and to ensure that every Filipino who works hard has a government that works just as hard in return,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Isa sa mga pangunahing batas na naipasa ng Kamara ay ang Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act.

“A national roadmap that aligns skills with real jobs – strengthening the link between education, training, and employment,” pahayag ni Speaker Romualdez.

“It gives structure to job creation, closing the gap between labor supply and industry demand.”

Binigyang-diin din niya ang pagpasa ng New Agrarian Emancipation Act na nagtanggal ng higit ₱57 bilyong pagkakautang sa lupa ng mahigit 600,000 magsasaka.

“That means freedom from decades of burdens and a fresh start for the families who feed our nation,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Binanggit ni Speaker Romualdez na isinabatas din ng Kamara ang libreng legal na tulong para sa uniformed personnel sa pamamagitan ng RA 12177.

“So that our soldiers, police, firefighters, and jail officers are protected when they are called to account for doing their sworn duty,” aniya.

Naipasa rin ng Kamara ang mga batas tulad ng Welfare of Caregivers Act at Eddie Garcia Law.

“Ensuring that caregivers, media, and entertainment workers – those who give care and those who give voice – are shielded by law, with safe conditions, fair contracts, and clear protections,” paliwanag ni Speaker Romualdez.

Kabilang din sa mga panukalang batas na nakasentro sa manggagawa ang pagtaas ng service incentive leave mula 5 hanggang 10 araw.

“Giving workers more time for their health, family, and personal well-being,” aniya.

Naipasa rin ang mga batas na nagpoprotekta sa mga freelancer mula sa hindi pagbabayad, nagbibigay ng benepisyo sa mga media worker, at nag-uutos ng personal finance education sa mga lugar ng trabaho.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez, ito ay tumutulong sa mga “workers build financial resilience.”

“We strengthened protections for the right to organize by prohibiting interference in unions, reducing collective bargaining cycles, and ensuring that union registrations cannot be easily cancelled,” paliwanag pa niya.

Dagdag pa rito, isinabatas din ng Kamara ang institutionalization ng TUPAD program at inalis ang mga bayarin sa mga dokumentong kailangan ng mga naghahanap ng trabaho mula sa hanay ng mga mahihirap.

Binigyang-diin din ni Speaker Romualdez ang pagpapatatag sa proteksyon para sa overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

“We gave overseas Filipino workers better protection – safeguarding their remittances, expanding the AKSYON fund for legal and welfare assistance, and offering financial education to them and their families,” pahayag ni Speaker Romualdez.

“These are not empty gestures. These are real laws with real impact: more security, more opportunity, and more dignity,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

“This is the promise of Bagong Pilipinas – a government that listens, acts, and delivers, especially for the working majority,” dagdag pa niya. “To every Filipino worker – in every field, factory, clinic, classroom, office, and job site – we see your sacrifice. We honor your strength. And we will always have your back.”

“Mabuhay ang manggagawang Pilipino. Mabuhay ang Bagong Pilipinas,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
