Target ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na magkaroon ng mahigit 9,000 free wi-fi sites sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa sa susunod na taon.
Ayon kay Undersecretary for ICT Industry Development Jocelle Batapa-Sigue sa kasalukuyan ay mayroong 3,055 active free wi0f0 sites hanggang noong Agosto 30.
Sa pagtatapos ng 2023, sinabi ni Batapa-Sigue na target ng DICT na mapaabot ang bilang nito sa 9,224.
Ang bawat wi-fi site ay magkakaroon umano ng minimum speed na 1.6 megabits per second (Mbps) at maximum na 50 Mbps.
