PINASINAYAAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang P2.55 bilyong bagong runway sa Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

Ito ang una at natatanging parallel runway sa Pilipinas.

Sa talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nitong simbolo ang bagong runway ng proreso, connectivity at economic growth ng Cebu.

“There really is something special about Cebu. It’s a place where history and progress come together very gracefully, where tradition converges with innovation, and where the grit and tenacity of its people shine brightly in every achievement,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“Today, we celebrate a new victory in Cebu’s remarkable story and ongoing story—one that shows why this province continues to inspire hope and progress for other provinces and certainly for the entire nation,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Mahalaga ayon kay Pangulong Marcos na pagandahin ang mga airport.

“This new runway at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport reflects the very essence of Cebu: it is dynamic, promising, and always ready to take on challenges,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Nabatid na noong nakaraang taon, nasa 8.5 milyon ang domestic passengers, 2.8 milyong international passengers, 67 milyongv kilo ng cargo, at 100,000 flights ang naitala sa Cebu.

Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, asahang mas maraming proyekto pa ang gagawin ng administrasyon sa Cebu.
