The Concert King Martin Nievera is celebrating his 42nd year in the business and of course, what better way to celebrate it by having a big concert at the Araneta Coliseum?

Ang nakakatuwa pa, ang magpo-produce ng kanyang anniversary concert titled “The King 4Ever” ay isa pang OPM icon na si Ogie Alcasid together with Cacai Velasquez.

Gaganapin ito sa Sept. 27 sa Big Dome.

Sa presscon kahapon ay sinabi ni Martin na idea ni Ogie ang ipag-produce siya ng isang malaking concert.

“He said, it’s about time that I have another big concert, so he and Cacai, together and they said, ‘Martin has to have a big show,’” sey ni Martin.

Aminado ang Concert King na hangga’t maaari ay ayaw na sana niyang mag-concert sa isang big venue dahil natatakot siya na baka hindi na niya ito kayaning mapuno.

“I have my fears. At Solaire, I’m happy there. I didn’t think I have to go back to the big venues. Nakakatakot, eh. Soloist, ikaw lang?” aniya.

Tanggap naman ni Martin na siyempre, iba na ang panahon ngayon. Hindi na nga raw katulad ng dati na nasa peak siya ng career.

“I was against doing it in a big venue. I don’t think I can do that by myself anymore the way I used to. You all know, we all know, about it before how well I could fill up this venue or that venue and have three or four shows or concerts in a year. That doesn’t happen anymore for the likes of me,” ani Martin.

“But I’m okay with that. It doesn’t bother me. I don’t feel I’m out of the game or out of the loop. ‘Andiyan pa rin naman ako. Feeling ko, ‘andiyan pa rin ako, interesado pa ako sa industry, I want to make it better. I want to leave a legacy where I can be remembered by my music, by my good decisions, not just my bad ones, but my good decisions that people who follow in my footsteps will have a nice path to follow,” he said.

“There was a time, all you need is my name and people were there. So let’s see, firstly, if they’re all still alive,” natatawa pang sabi ni Martin.
