IBINIGAY ni Speaker Martin G. Romualdez sa ace pole vaulter na si Ernest John “EJ” Uy Obiena ang kopya ng resolusyon na kumikilala at pumupuri sa tagumpay at karangalang naihatid nito sa bansa.

Sa isang simpleng handover rite na ginanap sa Office of the Speaker, ibinigay ni Romualdez kay Obiena ang House Resolution (HR) No. 10.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na nasa likod ni Obiena ang buong Kamara sa mga sasabakan nitong kompetisyon gaya ng paparating na Paris Olympics sa 2024.

“We’ll be rooting for you, we’ll be praying for you, and cheering for you all the way,” sabi ni Romualdez kay Obiena.

Nagpasalamat naman si Obienasa mainit na pagtanggap ni Romualdez sa kanya at sa ipinahayag nitong suporta.

“It’s very flattering to receive such an honor. It’s good to know that the whole House is at the back of every Filipino athlete who competes for the country,” sabi ni Obiena.

Nakasama ni Romualdez sa pagharap kay Obiena sina Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez (Party-List, Tingog), Faustino Michael Carlos Dy III (5th Dist., Isabela), James “Jojo” Ang Jr. (Party-list, USWAG ILONGGO), at Jernie Jett Nisay (Party-list, PUSONG PINOY).

Si Obiena ay itinuturing na isa sa pinakamagaling na pole vaulter sa mundo matapos ang kanyang sunod-sunod na tagumpay.
