IPINABABALIK sa Maynilad Water Services, Inc. ang sobra umanong siningil nito sa mga kustomer.

Ayon sa Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS)-Regulatory Office mayroong nasingil ang Maynilad batay sa maling komputasyon sa mga kustomer nito sa Muntinlupa-Las Piñas, Malabon-Valenzuela, at Quezon City.

Sa halip na ang pinayagan umanong singil ng MWSS ang ipatupad, ang nasisingil ng Maynilad ay ang Local Franchise Tax (LFT).

“Upon monitoring and evaluation of the rates being implemented by Maynilad in its Service Areas, it has come to the attention of the MWSS RO that Maynilad has been charging customers in the aforementioned Business Areas the actual LFT rates of the relevant local government units instead of the rates approved by the MWSS BOT,” sabi ni MWSS Chief Regulator Patrick Ty sa isang pahayag.

Noong Marso ay nabago ang buwis na ipinapataw sa isinusuplay na tubig ng Maynilad matapos itong mabigyan ng legislative franchise ng Kongreso.

Inalis ang 12 porsyentong Value Added Tax (VAT) at napalitan ng 2 porsyentong National Franchise Tax (NFT).
