Inendorso ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board ang isang Executive Order (EO) na naglalayong bawasan ang buwis na ipinapataw ng gobyerno sa mga electric vehicles (EVs) at mga piyesa nito.

Sa pagbaba ng buwis ay mas marami umano ang maeenganyo na bumili nito at mas mababawasan ang kinokonsumong produktong petrolyo sa bansa, ayon kay Socio-economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.

Ayon kay Balisacan naiparating na nila kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang panukala ng NEDA Board.

“In particular, the EO will temporarily reduce the most-favored nation (MFN) tariff rates to zero percent for five years and completely built-up or CBU units of second EVs, except for hybrid-type EVs,” ani Balisacan.

“It will also implement tariff modification on second parts and components of EVs from five percent to one percent for five years,” dagdag pa nito.

Kasama umano sa EO ang pagrepaso isang taon matapos itong maipatupad upang malaman ang epekto nito sa EV industry ecosystem.
