SINABI ni Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) director Colonel Hansel Marantan na hindi nila papayagan ang mga nagpapanggap na gumagamit ng hybrid cars para lang makalusot sa number coding scheme.

“We will address that concern. For the meantime, I am asking drivers/owners of hybrid vehicles to bring their certification from the Department of Energy which they need to present as a proof once they are stopped for violation of the number coding scheme in EDSA by enforcers of the Metro Manila Development Authority,” babala ng PNP-HPG director.

Ayon kay Col. Marantan, maraming drivers na nagkukunwaring nagda-drive ng ng hybrid na sasakyan para hindi mahuli sa number coding scheme. Hybrid ang mga sasakyan na pwede sa kuryente o sa gasolina.

Green ang plaka ng hybrid na sasakyan na iniisyu ng Land Transportation Office.

May listahan ang DOE ng mga sinasabing hybrid vehicle at hindi kasama dito ang nagbubuga ng carbon.

Sinabi ni Col. Marantan na 250,000 motor vehicles lang ang capacity ng EDSA pero kadalasang nasa 500,000 ang dumadaan dito araw-araw.

“We are part of a whole-of-government approach to address the traffic problem in EDSA and hope we can do more in the near future,” sabi ni Col. Marantan.
