PINURI ng isang mambabatas mula sa Mindanao ang hakbang ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na hilingin ang pagbibitiw ng lahat ng miyembro ng Gabinete na magbibigay daan upang mapalitan ang mga underperforming na opisyal nito.

Ayon kay Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers ang pagsusumite ng courtesy resignation ng mga miyembro ng Gabinete ay magbibigay sa Pangulo ng kalayaan na palitan ang mga mataas na opisyal ng gobyerno na hindi mahusay ang performance at/o nanamihik sa mga batikos na ipinupukol sa kanya.

“I believe he (the President) should appoint to the Cabinet people who have unquestionable integrity and loyalty to him and his administration…people who as his alter ego can deliver their respective mandates to the people that we serve and will not think twice in condemning Chinese aggression in the West Philippine Sea and defend him on other national issues thrown against him and his administration,” ani Barbers.

Si Barbers, pangunahing chair ng House Quad Committee at chairman ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, ay nagsabing dahil sa kakulangan sa performance ng ilang miyembro ng Gabinete, tila hindi nararamdaman ng masa ang mga naging tagumpay ng administrasyong Marcos sa mga isyu ng kalusugan, seguridad sa pagkain, at kapayapaan at kaayusan.

“It is now timely that he come up with new marching orders to implement a reinvigorated system of governance with certain innovations that will be appreciated by the masses. The President is on the right track. And he must act promptly and decisively in order to preserve the gains of his administration,” diin pa ni Barbers.
